Honda made people look when it showcased its trio of futuristic electric vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show last year. It turned even more heads when it canceled plans for said EVs shortly after.
Since then, however, Honda has announced clearer plans regarding its hybrids. It looks like this time around, the plans will materialize, as the carmaker has just released its first official teasers of its upcoming hybrid SUV, the Avancier. Honda confirmed this will “soon be revealed” in Australia—if previous reports are to hold true, then the model should debut within 2027.

Details are still scarce, and apart from the fact that it will be a hybrid, all we get from Honda are snippets of the Avancier in the shadows. That said, we do get a glimpse of the upcoming vehicle’s futuristic design with a seemingly sharp-looking physique and rugged proportions.

While Honda has only teased the Avancier Down Under, we’ve already read rumors about the model’s potential arrival in Thailand. If that were to be the case, then it’s highly likely that the model will eventually makes its way to the Philippines, especially if Honda were to begin manufacturing it in the region.

To those unfamiliar with the Avancier, the nameplate has been around for several years. It’s classified as a midsize crossover produced in China by Guangqi Honda (GAC-Honda). It is also manufactured by Dongfeng Honda as the UR-V.
What do you think of these recent developments from Honda, readers? Would you like to see the Avancier eventually land in our market?
