Fully electric hatchbacks are having a moment in 2026. GAC recently launched its Aion UT, while Geely is gearing up to officially release its competitive EX2 on June 23. Suddenly, the BYD Seagull and Dolphin have a mountain of competition—and now, Chery Auto Philippines has joined the fray.
The Chery QEV debuted at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), offered as the brand’s sole model outside of the Tiggo lineup. It couldn’t stand out more with its Q-themed design, all-electric powerplant, and hatchback form factor. The QEV has come a long way from the QQ, and its fellow compact EVs should be on notice.
Comparisons, reviews, and heck, even a dedicated episode of The Big Test may be on the horizon. But as we wait for these new hatches to reach customers, here is everything you need to know about the QEV.

At launch, the Chery QEV is offered in a lone variant—and therefore, a single price at P1.12 million. With that, Chery’s hatch costs more than the Aion UT, the Seagull, and the EX2, all of which have either variants or introductory prices that start at under P1 million.
Interest checks are currently open, and prospective buyers can choose between white, silver, beige, purple, and red finishes. There also does not seem to be any additional charges for particular colors.

While we don’t have the exact dimensions of the local-spec QEV, it does feature a surprisingly long body for its segment. In terms of size, it looks similar to the Aion UT, which measures 4,270mm in length.
However, ground clearance and overall height should be more favorable on the QEV as it rides on larger 17-inch wheels. For reference, both the Aion UT and the EX2 ride on 16-inch rollers. Sadly, we didn’t see the Star-Shield wheels at PIMS, but hopefully those will make their way to customer units.
The rest of the shell is adorned with Q-style badges, along with a tactile emblem below the A-pillar that controls the front trunk. Up front and around the back, the headlights and taillights follow a Q-shape pattern that blends in with the QEV’s modern look.

Inside, the QEV gets a leather-wrapped interior with a 256-color ambient lighting system. The front seats are equipped with heated and cooling functions, with abundant leg space throughout the cabin.
Chery advertises that there are 38 storage compartments around the interior, with about 35 liters of space found under the rear bench seat. Meanwhile, the front trunk can accommodate 70 liters of cargo, while the rear storage area can expand from 375 liters to 1,450 liters.
For infotainment, there is a 15.6-inch display, complemented by a smaller digital instrument panel on the driver’s side. The screen itself makes use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, which should make it properly responsive. Below the screen sits a 50W wireless charging pad.

The QEV is equipped with a 42.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which is rated for up to 405km of driving on a full charge. In terms of charging, it supports DC fast charging up to 90kW. It also uses a GBT plug, but reports say every unit will likely come with a CCS2 adapter.
Its exact power output has also yet to be shared, but the rear-wheel drive hatch also features a MacPherson suspension system mounted up front and a rear three-link independent suspension. Stopping power is delivered via front-loaded ventilated discs and solid-disc brakes at the back.

Chery has loaded wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the QEV’s infotainment system. Along with these, drivers also get Level-2 driving assistance functions with front and rear parking sensors. A 540-degree around-view monitor has also been added, further complementing the additional safety features. The QEV is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capable as well, but the exact output has yet to be disclosed.
Every QEV comes with an eight-year, or 150,000km, warranty on the high-voltage battery, and separate five-year, or 150,000km, bumper-to-bumper coverage. Chery also gives new buyers free roadside assistance for three years.
