As more and more Filipino car buyers continue to shift to electrification, it’s no surprise that carmakers keep bringing in new EVs left and right. The latest addition to this growing electrified market is the Dongfeng Vigo EV.
The Chinese carmaker has always had plenty of electric offerings, a roster that includes the Nanobox and the Nammi. But with the Vigo, Dongfeng expands its reach further across the industry.

The Vigo lands in subcompact-crossover territory in terms of size. It’s got a clean-looking exterior with stylish headlights up front but still with an overall simple design. Frankly, though, it looks a bit like the Kia EV5.

Opinion: To EV, or not to EV? That is the question
It’s quite the capable EV, boasting 161hp and 230Nm of torque from its single electric motor. It packs a 51.87kWh LFP battery that enables a maximum range of 471km on a single charge. Speaking of which, the Dongfeng Vigo EV also supports DC fast charging, letting it recharge from 30 to 80% in as quick as 18 minutes. With an AC charger, zero to 100% takes seven hours.

The Dongfeng Vigo comes with a long list of features, including automatic climate controls, a 12.8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 360-degree-view parking camera, and a full suite of ADAS. Said suite comes with forward-colision warning with autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping and lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function.
Only one variant of the Dongfeng Vigo EV is available, and it stickers for P1.458 million. Multiple colors are available, though, namely: Canyon Orange, Titanium Silver, Mosswood Green, Sandstone Yellow, Arctic White, and Cyber Black. Each purchase of the Dongfeng Vigo EV comes with an eight-year/170,000km warranty on the EV battery, and a five-year/150,000km warranty on the vehicle. For both warranties, whichever comes first.
