Ford is shaping up to be the next carmaker to take its China-exclusive products global. A report from CarExpert shared that the range-extended hybrid Ford Bronco New Energy is scheduled to debut in Australia, and that could mean interesting things for the Philippine market.
As you may know, this is not the 2.7-liter V6 model we are familiar with, but rather an electrified version made exclusively for China. It is built in partnership with Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), which local buyers would recognize from the popular Territory crossover.

Most recently, we’ve seen this strategy from Nissan as its China-made vehicles have just been confirmed to appear at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show. The Dongfeng-based Frontier Pro is also on its way to other countries.

After it recently released the more affordable RWD Mustang Mach-E, Ford Philippines could expand its electrified offerings even further. A range-extended or plug-in hybrid Bronco would give the Blue Oval a direct competitor against the likes of the Denza B5.

And given the current energy crisis, it would make for another timely release. The range-extended Bronco can drive for up to 220km on just electric power, and over 1,200km when working with the engine. Speaking of powertrains, Ford and JMC have attached a 1.5-liter gasoline engine to charge the 43.7kWh battery and propel the two-motor setup.
While we don’t have the total system output, the front motor is rated for 174hp while the rear unit can return 241hp. With these figures, the hybrid Bronco sounds like an efficient option for urban dwellers. Would you want to see this launch in the Philippines?
