The Department of Transportation posted photos of the new Port of Lucena passenger terminal building (PTB) on its Facebook page. The new building is set to open soon, aiming to provide better comfort for passengers traveling to and from Quezon.

According to DOTr secretary Giovanni Lopez, the modernized Port of Lucena PTB will accommodate more passengers—including both local and foreign tourists—with a seating capacity of 1,000. This aims to help boost tourism in Quezon and nearby provinces.

Part of the project includes automated ticketing counters, which should make purchasing tickets more efficient. The building has also been equipped with solar panels for more sustainable energy use.
