After debuting at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show, the new Nissan Kicks may be on its way to the Philippines. The Land Transportation Office recently published homologation papers for the hybrid crossover, which could hint at an upcoming release.
According to the agency’s database, the Kicks can launch with three variants, namely, the Kicks e-Power VL, the Kicks e-Power VE, and premium colors of the VE. This suggests that the base EL trim will be phased out, leaving the more premium configurations in the lineup.
The papers also show that engine size and overall dimensions are similar across both trims, indicating differences in features and finishes. We can expect the VL to come fully loaded, while the VE will likely get fewer driver-assistance features.

For the uninitiated, that engine will still be a 1.2-liter three-cylinder, serving as a generator for the electric motor. Overall, it puts out around 134hp and 280Nm of torque, with a top speed of 180kph. Compared with the currently available Kicks, performance and size are about the same.
Hopeful buyers can instead expect the latest version of ProPilot, the brand’s suite of advanced driver-assist systems, and updated styling. The fascia adopts a more EV-like appearance, with a flatter grille and sharper headlights. Inside, the main center screen has been updated, while the steering wheel and gearshift look similar.
