When the Mitsubishi XForce first rolled onto the scene, it attracted lots of prospective consumers not just for its athletic looks, but also for its handling and jam-packed features. The only thing that hindered some folks from driving one out of the showroom floor was its starting price.
That, however, is no longer the case. Mitsubishi pulled out the drawing board, made a few adjustments, and has now put together a more affordable variant of the XForce that doesn’t lose the essence and practicality of what the nameplate first brought to the table. Meet the XForce GLX CVT, a new base variant with an introductory price of just P1,049,000.

The newly introduced GLX keeps the core strengths of its higher-spec siblings without compromising design, comfort, and driving confidence. It features a stylish exterior similar to the GT and GLS trims, equipped with LED headlamps, foglights, and daytime running lights.
Under the hood, all three variants share the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a CVT, delivering 103hp and 141Nm of torque to the front wheels. The GLX retains Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC) and Active Yaw Control (AYC), which help keep the subcompact crossover composed through corners.

Inside, it features an analog instrument panel, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a reverse-camera display. The cabin also has USB-A and USB-C ports for both front and rear occupants, reclining rear-passenger seats, an electric park brake with auto-hold, a center floor console with cooling functions, physical buttons for climate control, and even a driver’s knee A/C vent.
While the GLX features smaller 17-inch wheels compared to the 18-inch alloys found on the GT and GLS variants, ground clearance remains at 198mm. After the introductory period, it will have a standard SRP of just P1,119,000.

The GLX isn’t the only one getting all the attention, though. Mitsubishi has also added some additional features to its mid-spec GLS and top-of-the-line GT. The GLS receives a new 360-degree Multi-Around monitor, new black leather seats with Heat Guard technology, and a new Jet Black Mica color option. Meanwhile, the GT gets a new panoramic glass roof, a new eight-way power-adjustable driver seat, and a 360-degree monitor as well.
Priced at P1,299,000, the XForce GLS CVT has four drive modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud. It also features an eight-inch multi-information display, a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control with Nanoe X and Dry Mode, an eight-speaker Yamaha sound system, and cruise control.

At P1,661,000, the XForce GT CVT gets all the features of the GLS with the addition of more Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS) features: forward-collision mitigation system, leading-car departure notification, blind-spot warning system, rear-cross traffic alert, automatic high beams, and curtain airbags. It also comes with a wireless charger and ambient lighting.
In the subcompact crossover segment, stepping in with a new ultra-competitive model to represent the brand’s long-standing reputation for durability, family-friendly utility, and fun handling is no easy task. But Mitsubishi stepped up and said, “Challenge accepted.” With the XForce’s new expanded lineup, Mitsubishi has put its subcompact crossover in a position that not only values a more accessible entry price, but also provides more feature-filled choices for Filipino families to consider.
