The Lexus UX300h gets a new special-edition trim in Japan called Shining Essence. The package gives the compact crossover a new body color and some upgraded finishes to both the interior and exterior.
The body paint has a glossy blue shade that almost glistens in the light. Lexus calls this new color option ‘SOU.’ To complement the body color, the Spindle Grille is now finished in mild-gloss silver, while the 18-inch wheels get a premium metallic coat.

The LED headlights are now processed with aluminum vapor deposition, preventing deterioration from ultraviolet rays that cause yellowing. The package also adds fender-arch moldings finished in the same body color.

Moving to the interior, the control panel and door switches feature a layered grid trim, while the seats get perforated ‘L-tex’ synthetic leather compatible with ventilation and heating. Additionally, the panoramic-view monitor, hands-free power rear door, and colored head-up display are all standard features.

Lexus says the Shining Essence package is available in eight colors standard on the UX300h, but highlights the SOU colorway, as it’s a new and exclusive option for this trim. Customers getting the UX300h in a different color will still receive all the other styling options of the package, such as the silver Spindle Grille, body-color fender moldings, premium-metallic 18-inch wheels, and interior features.
