It looks like we’re going to see the next-generation Nissan Skyline a lot sooner than expected. In an interview with Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun, Nissan CEO Ivan Espinosa confirmed that the all-new model is scheduled to launch in December this year.
He then positioned the upcoming Skyline as part of a larger “renaissance” of the Nissan brand. Along with the revival of the nameplate, the Japanese carmaker is also celebrating its return to profitability.

The Re:Nissan recovery plan rolled out in 2025, and has included factory closures, employee downsizing, and product overhauls. The latter has seen manufacturing consolidation and new vehicle launches across Nissan’s global markets.

The early arrival of the Skyline will also mark the first product from Nissan’s “accelerated development process.” Once fully complete (presumably by December), the model’s entire development would’ve taken just 26 months, almost halving the standard 50-month cycle.

The report mentions that to achieve this, artificial intelligence was used, but it is unclear at what exact stage of the process. Sadly, no other vehicle specifications or teaser photos have been released at this point.
At least we won’t have to wait too long to see what the all-new Skyline shapes up to be. For now, we can revisit that eight-second teaser from April and appreciate those classic logos and taillights.
