All the rumors can now be put to rest. The brand-new Lexus TZ has arrived, and it debuts as a fully electric three-row SUV with up to 620km of range. Lexus also advertises that the TZ’s ‘Driving Lounge’ is the quietest cabin in its class—but it can make serious noise if drivers desire so.
That is through an optional LFA-inspired sound package, which simulates a roaring V10 through a pair of paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. While that’s all fun and games, the TZ packs some serious power and performance.
Equipped with an AWD system built around a pair of motors and a beefy 95.82kWh battery, the TZ is rated for 403hp. In terms of torque, the front and rear motors output 269Nm a piece. With V2L capabilities and a 1,500kg towing capacity to boot, Lexus ensures that the TZ is an ideal outdoor vehicle.

Inside, the TZ is prompted to deliver a “total sensory experience” to all six passengers. This is done with an ambient lighting system diffused through bamboo finishes across the cabin and intricately assembled acoustics.
Measuring 5,100mm long and with a wheelbase of 3,050mm, drivers and passengers should be treated to an abundance of space. Lexus has also added a ‘Rear Comfort’ driving mode to ensure those in the rear seats are taken care of. Carrying cargo should also be no issue, as the TZ can hold 290 liters with the third-row seats up. With the second and third rows down, the trunk expands to 2,017 liters.
Aesthetically, the TZ has a similar silhouette to the Toyota Highlander, but the flatter face and sharper lines make it stand out. It almost looks like a larger RZ, but with some RAV4 styling cues thrown in.
