Nissan Philippines made a bold announcement today confirming its lineup of models on display at the upcoming 2026 Philippine International Motor Show. In a manga-inspired key visual, the four models will be the X-Trail e-Power, the Kicks e-Power, the Frontier Pro, and the N7 (aka Primera.)
This electrified stack keeps former Nissan Philippines president Masao Tsustsumi’s promise of three to four different models to be launched every year until 2028 on track. Let’s check out what we know for each model so far.

Leading the charge in the graphics is the X-Trail e-Power, which will make its return to the Philippine market after years of absence. The X-Trail’s comeback has been a long road, with it being first previewed locally at the PIMS 2024 and then at multiple Nissan events and motor shows afterwards.
The compact crossover scene has undergone plenty of changes since we last saw the X-Trail at Nissan dealerships. Its traditional rivals, the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4, have fully matured alongside their respective hybrid systems and offer very complete and compelling packages. We’ll see soon enough how the X-Trail stacks up against them.

Next up is the all-new Kicks e-Power, which we saw at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show. One of our staff writers, Lije Martin, actually got behind its wheel in Thailand. His first impressions of it revealed a more mature, but still energetic subcompact crossover.

Hailing from Nissan’s joint venture with Dongfeng in China, the Nissan Frontier Pro is a plug-in hybrid that initially launched last year. Admittedly, this is less of a surprise given the news of Nissan beginning exports of the BYD Shark 6 competitor to LHD markets—it was just a matter of time.
From his limited seat time with the Frontier Pro in China, staff writer Billy Caluag found a pickup truck that performs “like a Nissan and is just as reliable—albeit with loads of Chinese tech on board.” Nissan itself emphasized that despite the badge engineering, it was still a Nissan through and through. In the end, however, the market will be judge of that.

Last but not least is a sedan with many names: we first knew it as the Nissan N7, but DOE papers revealed in advance it could potentially be known as the Nissan Primera in our market. Another fruit of Nissan’s efforts in China, Billy reports that this large electric sedan has a plush cabin and steady handling.
We previously noted that with its tech package and form factor, it’s going head-on against the Tesla Model 3. Filipino buyers could also cross-shop it against the Toyota Camry HEV, despite the size and tech differences.

All in all, Nissan Philippines is covering all bases with this lineup of an HEV, a PHEV, and a BEV. With PIMS just around the corner, tell us: Which new Nissan are you excited to see in the metal this year?
