You know what’s more exciting than seeing a carmaker launch a next-generation model? Seeing said model in the metal.
On a recent trip to Japan, Top Gear Philippines executive editor Sharleen Banzon came across a Mitsubishi display, with the all-new Pajero front and center. She was able to get up close with the fifth-generation SUV, and no, I’m not jealous at all. We did get actual photos, so we’ll take what we can get.

The SUV is as stylish and burly as advertised. My biases aside, I do think actual photos do the new model justice. It’s faithful to Mitsubishi’s current design language, and it looks like it’ll fit nicely in the brand’s existing lineup.

We also got photos of the interior, which show a few bits and pieces we didn’t spot during the global launch. For starters, we noticed the cup holders hidden below the classic handles on the dash. There are also USB-C ports behind the front-row seats, which I’m sure rear passengers will be able to enjoy.

We also get to see the multi meter display in all its digital glory, and I have to say, I still think analog gauges would’ve been much better. That said, the interior looks plush and premium, and feels like a proper modern revival of the Pajero.
Anyway, you’ve probably read most of the details before, so we’ll just leave you with the rest of the photos. If you want to read more about the Pajero, you can also check out our size comparo featuring this all-new model.
Lastly, here’s hoping all of us eventually get to see the next-gen Pajero—on Philippine soil, of course.
