The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, together with the Truck Manufacturers Association, has announced that its members sold 35,722 vehicles in September 2026. Including non-member entities, overall industry sales sit at 40,240 units for the same month.
This represents a 20.6% monht-on-month increase, marking a significant resurgence for the Philippine automotive industry. In August, vehicle sales dropped to 29,611 units—a surprising outcome as July 2026 proved to be a strong month.

Carmakers and distributors will now look to ride this momentum throughout the rest of the year. Later this week, the annual Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) and the first Philippine International Truck Show will take place at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City. There, visitors can check out the latest offerings and developments from across various segments.

It will be an especially interesting PEVS, as electric vehicle sales have continued to grow throughout September. Specifically, xEV sales—including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs)—increased by 19% last month.

In that endeavor, VinFast Auto Philippines led the sale of BEVs in September with 865 units sold. Concurrently, Toyota Motor Philippines and Jetour Auto Philippines spearheaded the sales of HEVs and PHEVs with 2,737 units and 548 units, respectively.
Toyota still leads the overall industry in vehicle sales, with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines at second and Suzuki Auto Philippines rounding out the podium.
“Sales of ICE vehicles posted a strong 19% rebound in September, while xEV sales also recorded a solid 14% increase,” said CAMPI president Jose Maria Atienza. “This continued growth across both segments reflects healthy consumer demand and reinforces our confidence in the market. Based on annual sales trends heading into the final months of the year, we believe the industry is well-positioned to sustain its momentum and deliver a strong overall performance in 2026.”
