GAC Philippines was awarded as the 2026 Breakthrough Brand in the automotive category in Kantar’s 2026 BrandZ Spotlight on Philippine Brands report. The Chinese car manufacturer joined Toyota as the only two automotive brands recognized at the event.
Kantar Philippines’ data showed 15.3% of new vehicle sales in the first half of 2026 were EVs—fully electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid—with 74% of survey respondents saying they would consider purchasing an EV as their next vehicle. GAC says that as the market enters the new energy era, the brand is emerging as a trusted choice for Filipino families.

GAC’s local product lineup consists of various models—both electrified and ICE-equipped—including compact options like the Aion UT and the Aion V, as well as larger, more executive offerings like the GN8 PHEV, the E8 HEV, and the GS8 HEV. The company says its recognition was primarily driven by strong consumer connection, brand differentiation, market relevance, and future growth potential.
