Ford’s best-selling truck just got a refresh, and fans ought to take note. The Wildtrak and Wildtrak-X variants have returned after a brief hiatus to reinforce the Ford Ranger lineup. These will slot just below the Ranger Raptor, which also received some upgrades for model year 2027.
More important, the Wildtrak and Wildtrak-X are powered by V6 turbodiesel engines. That’s right—the performance-oriented Raptor is no longer the sole option for Ford customers looking for a V6-powered truck.

Although the Ford Ranger retains a relatively affordable starting price of P1,379,000 with the XLS, 4×4 capabilities are only found starting at the Sport variant. As mentioned above, the Ranger Raptor keeps its spot at the top of the stack with its P2,879,000 price tag.
Reservations for the Wildtrak, Wildtrak-X, and Raptor are now open at Ford dealerships nationwide. And because September is Truck Month, Ford is celebrating by offering customers of any V6-powered Ranger a P20,000 cash discount plus the brand’s 5-Star Care Package, which includes five years of vehicle warranty, scheduled service, and emergency roadside assistance. For the Ranger Raptor specifically, customers can also avail of a P150,000 all-in down payment. through September 30, 2026.
The Ford Ranger is generally a big vehicle, but its dimensions vary between variants as it gets spec’d with different setups on certain variants. From the XLS up to the Wildtrak, the Ranger is 5,370mm long, 1,918mm wide, and 1,884mm tall, with 235mm of ground clearance.
As we’ll see later below, the Wildtrak-X gets extra gear, which results in slightly different exterior dimensions: 5,370mm long, 1,949mm wide, and 1,914mm tall, with 242mm of ground clearance. Contributing to the vehicle’s added height is the wheel setup which consists of 17-inch alloys clad in chunky 265/70 R17 all-terrain tires.
The Ranger Raptor’s performance-oriented setup leads to yet another set of exterior dimensions: 5,381mm long, 2,028mm wide, and 1922mm long with 275mm of ground clearance. It also has 17-inch rims like the Wildtrak-X, wrapped in even chunkier 285/70 R17 rubber.
LED headlights and taillights are standard across most of the Ford Ranger lineup, as are the C-shaped DRLs. From the Wildtrak and above, these are upgraded to a Matrix LED system. The Wildtrak-X’s fascia is also accessorized with the ‘Ranger’ nameplate spelled out on the hood’s front edge. Finally, the Raptor gets bragging rights as the sole variant with the rugged Ford logo grille design, in place of the traditional H-style grille adorned with the Blue Oval.
All variants of the Ford Ranger are dual cabs that seat up to five passengers. The more affordable XLS and XLT variants understandably have fabric seats, with leather upholstery showing up from the Sport trim and above. The Wildtrak, Wildtrak-X, and Raptor variants’ seats in particular are slightly fancier with contrast stitching and their respective ‘Wildtrak’ or ‘Ranger’ nameplate inserts.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, the instrument panel is an 8-inch display (upsized to 12.4-inch displays on the Wildtrak-X and Raptor), complemented by a 10-inch portrait-orientation infotainment screen (upsized to a 12-inch screen on the Wildtrak, Wildtrak-X, and Raptor).
Two USB-A ports and two 12V sockets are standard connectivity across the whole Ranger lineup, with a wireless charger included starting from the XLT trim. Also from the XLT trim above, a windscreen-mounted USB port is present to allow cleaner installation of accessories like dashcams. A 10-speaker premium sound system powered by Bang & Olufsen is present on the Wildtrak-X and Raptor, serving as a considerable upgrade over the OE six-speaker setup found on the Wildtrak and below.
Ford app connectivity is present on the Wildtrak, Wildtrak-X, and Ranger, which enables features like remote start and unlocking, vehicle status and location monitoring, and online service booking.
Highlight of the refreshed Ford Ranger lineup is the selection of V6 options found on the Wildtrak, Wildtrak-X, and Raptor. Although these have six cylinders and three liters of displacement in common, Ford clarifies that these deliver “three distinct expressions of V6 performance.”
The Ranger Wildtrak and Wildtrak-X are powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine which produces 247hp and 600Nm of torque, mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4×4 system. An electronic-locking rear differential and terrain management system are also onboard to help with navigating tough terrain. In contrast, the Ranger Raptor packs a gas-powered 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine boasting 392hp and 583Nm of torque, also sent through a ten-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4×4. Other trims in the lineup retain the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel that makes 168hp and 405Nm of torque.
Across most of the lineup, the Ford Ranger utilizes a double wishbone suspension with coil springs up front and leaf springs at the rear. The Wildtrak adds an anti-roll bar at the rear, and the Wildtrak-X gets upgraded with Bilstein-branded shock absorbers.
The performance-oriented Raptor gets the most sophisticated setup. The double wishbone setup in the front suspension uses Fox-branded live-valve internal bypass shock absorbers, while the rear now uses a Watt’s link setup with coil springs and the live-valve internal bypass shock absorbers equipped with external reservoirs also from Fox.
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard across the Ford Ranger lineup. The XLT and Sport trims add a rear-view camera on top, and the Wildtrak, Wildtrak-X, and Raptor move up to 360-degree cameras instead. The V6-equipped Rangers also get multiple drive modes to modulate power and traction, including Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.
From the XLS up to Sport trims, the Ranger is equipped with a loadout of six airbags (driver, front passenger, side, curtain), with an added knee airbag on the Wildtrak, Wildtrak-X, and Raptor. The V6-equipped Rangers also come equipped with Ford’s ADAS suite including autonomous emergency braking, forward collission warning, blind spot assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go.
