Along with the Sealion 6 DM-i, BYD has increased the price of the Shark 6 DMO. But compared to the hybrid SUV, the pickup receives a steeper hike of up to P320,000.
Previously, the Shark 6 had a starting price of P2,098,000 for the entry-level Advanced variant. That has since jumped to P2,388,000—a P290,000 difference. The top-of-the-line Premium variant, on the other hand, is now priced at P2,618,000, up from its previous P2,298,000 sticker price.

The Shark 6 became a popular alternative among pickup owners looking for a hybrid vehicle without sacrificing the truck bed. While the Shark 6 may be very different from familiar diesel-powered pickups, the all-wheel-drive system, 700mm wading depth, and payload capacity of around 800kg gave it enough similarities for owners to consider.

However, the hybrid pickup truck segment is also seeing the rise of new competitors. The 2026 Manila International Auto Show featured new launches of the Changan Hunter REEV and the Radar RD6 PHEV—both with competitive price tags.
The Hunter starts at P1.69 million for the 4×2 variant, and P1.97 million for the top-spec 4×4 variant. Meanwhile, the RD6 PHEV starts at P1.69 million and ranges up to P1.94 million, with fully electric options also available starting at P1.39 million.
As of writing, BYD has yet to give an official statement regarding the price hike. If you’re in the market for a Shark 6, will this increase affect your decision?
